Gamblin Oil Paint Set- Kevin MacPherson Plein Air Set
USD 92.84 Kevin Macpherson paints using a limited palette made up of the three primary colors included in this set: Cadmium Red Light Cadmium Yellow Light and Ultramarine Blue. Painters can become quite skillful at color mixing by using such a limited palette. The set also contains Alizarin Crimson and Phthalo Green to facilitate the painting of brighter violets and greens. Gamblin Accents on the Figure Oil Paint Set
USD 92.42 Historically a colorman showed painters a fairly narrow range of oil colors for figure painting. Most colors available before the mid 19th centure were Earth Oranges Yellows and Reds with low intensity and near neutral values. Painters continue using Earth colors because they are the easiest colors to use for recreating skin tones. Regardless of ethnicity all skin types are fundamentally shades of Earth Orange hues. These oil paints can be mixed int as many different orange colors as needed to paint the base of all skin tones. what are a list of good Oil Painting materials?
i have gamblin paints,webers odorless turpenoid, refined linseed oil,utrect sable brushes,palette paper...
If you are starting out it is not necessary to buy the most expensive materials and don't fall for all those fancy paint names. All you need is a handful of paints (the primary colours , white, and maybe a sienna and an umber). With those you can mix to create the rest. After you have painted 100 or so pictures and you know where you are going with your art you can invest in the more expensive stuff but my bet is you won't bother even then. I have painted for 50 years and haven't needed to expand on the list above.
